Please read the whole post before replying that you do not support Linux.
I have a dual boot system (win98 & Linux Red Hat 5.2) I have tried an different occasions to connect using Linux. At first my problems were getting Linux to take control of my modem, but this is not longer my problem.
I can now dial to you (372-0001), I get a message that says "CONNECT 49333/ARQ/V90/LAPM/V42BIS" Then I get prompted for my logon: and password: after they are entered I get a message saying connected with a couple ip addresses followed by a charactors string that can not be comprehended.
My problem is that there must be some bit of information that you need after the login and password are entered, because I am never able to get the the www--I always get timed out.
I am told some Linux users must have a script file that includes "pkr- "ppp /compress" to let you know it is a point to point protocol.
Can you please let me know exactly what your computer expects from a Windows login, because that is all I should need to know to replicate it using Linux (it is just that Linux must be told every single step, where windows does things that get taken for granted)
Ok--now you can tell me you do not support linux if you have too (now that you have read this), but please realize that I am not asking anything except for the exact protocol that occurs with a Windows connection
Thanks,
Dan
