Preschool age children must understand the difference between things adults and caregivers use (tools) and thing they can safely play with (toys). Look at the following pictures with children. Be sure the child can identify object that are OK to touch and those they should not. Children should understand the hazard associated with various tools. Some may result in serous burns, while others can cause a large and dangerous fire to start. Of course many can result in both.
