The Adult Services Department offers:

Murder and Mayhem - a book discussion group for mystery lovers. Usually meets on the second Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. New members welcome - be ready to tell us about your latest readings. No particular book is read.

Evening Book Discussion - Usually the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. New members are welcome. Multiple copies of the discussion book are available at the Circulation Desk. Call 644-1541 for more information

Reference and Information Services

Librarians in the Reference Department can provide facts, assist in in-depth research and offer guidance in using the Library fully and efficiently. A wealth of printed and electronic information sources is available.

Print Reference Materials

Our traditional Reference Collection consists of general encyclopedias such as the Britanica, the Americana and the World Book ; specialized encyclopedias such as The Encyclopedia of American Social History, The Encyclopedia of Philosophy, The Dictionary of the Middle Ages, The Dictionary of American History and The Dictionary of American Biography; atlases such as The Times Atlas of the World, Rand McNally's Commercial Atlas and Marketing Guide and Rand McNally's Road Atlas; Information Please and World Almanacs; directories including Connecticut phone books, Standard and Poor's Register of Corporations, Moody's Industrial and Over the Counter Manuals.
