From the Director's Desk: Welcome

A Special Thank-You for our Friends...

Over the past two years, the Friends of the South Windsor Public Library have set aside funds to provide continuing education for our staff. With the Library Board's support, the Friends have granted us a very special opportunity.

One March 23, 2006, the Library will be CLOSED to allow all staff to attend the 11th National Conference of the Public Library Association in Boston. This conference, held alternate years in cities across the country, has never been held close enough to CT to allow more than one of our staff to attend. This year, we will be able to travel by bus and join over 5,000 public library colleagues to learn new techniques, view new products, and gather ideas to improve our library service in South Windsor.

As is the case with any days the Library plans to be closed, no borrowed items will be "due" on the 23rd, nor will overdue fines accrue. We will resume normal Library hours on Friday, March 24 - a Booked for Lunch day!

We appreciate your patience during this unique staff event. We are very grateful to the Friends of the Library and the Library Board for their support!
